Standing with Israel

In times of war

Aliyah

Our work is centred around one Hebrew word — ‘Aliyah’. Its literal meaning is ‘to go up’. Traveling to Jerusalem necessitates ‘going up’ into the hills from the flat land below.

For this reason the Jewish people have adopted this term to refer to the process of returning to The Land of Israel from the four corners of the earth.

Declaration of support for Israel

" We, the International Board of Ebenezer Operation Exodus, along with Ebenezer workers and volunteers in more than 50 nations worldwide, declare our unwavering and united support for the State of Israel, and our unequivocal condemnation of all acts of terrorism perpetrated by Hamas, as well as all recent acts of antisemitism manifested in many nations... "

What We Do

Aliyah

Acknowledge and practically respond to God’s desire that the Jews return to His Land.

Support those with a heart to pray for Aliyah with up-to-date points for prayer and connect them with others who are praying.

Teaching

To declare the purposes of God concerning the Jewish people.

Deuteronomy 30:4

‘If your outcasts are at the ends of the earth, from there the Lord your God will gather you, and from there He will bring you back.’

Isaiah 49:22

‘Behold, I will lift up My hand to the nations, And set up My standard to the peoples; And they will bring your sons in their bosom, And your daughters will be carried on their shoulders.’

Isaiah 62:1

‘For Zion’s sake I will not keep silent, And for Jerusalem’s sake I will not keep quiet, Until her righteousness goes forth like brightness, And her salvation like a torch that is burning.’

Isaiah 62:6-7

On your walls, O Jerusalem, I have appointed watchmen; All day and all night they will never keep silent. You who remind the Lord, take no rest for yourselves; and give Him no rest until He establishes and makes Jerusalem a praise in the earth.’

Romans 11:29

‘For the gifts and calling of God are irrevocable.’

Amos 9:14-15

“...I will restore the captivity of My people Israel, and they will rebuild the ruined cities and live in them. They will also plant vineyards and drink their wine, and make gardens and eat their fruit. I will also plant them on their land, and they will not again be rooted out from their land which I have given them,” says the Lord your God.

We’re active in your country too.

A Worldwide Network

Ebenezer Operation Exodus was established during the first Gulf War when its founder, Gustav Scheller, was taking part in the International Prayer Conference in Jerusalem in 1991. He already believed that God wanted the Jewish people to return to their homeland in fulfilment of the ancient biblical prophecies. Now, when they were under attack and the conference delegates were praying in a bomb shelter, Gustav sensed that God was urging him to start doing something practical to help bring them home.

The Lord used Gustav’s ability as a businessman and the generous gifts of those who shared the vision to sponsor three Jewish Agency flights from Budapest to Haifa bringing 720 Russian Olim to Israel. It was a momentous occasion. The next year, Gustav and his team chartered a ship for three sailings from Odessa in Ukraine to Haifa. It was the first time a direct shipping route had been established between Ukraine and Israel and it was followed by many more sailings for several years.

In 1995, flights commenced from Kazakhstan and in 1999 the ministry celebrated 100 sailings taking Olim from the former Soviet Union home to Israel. Further expansion saw 100,000 Olim return by 2006, when an office was opened in Jerusalem to help them settle in their new homeland.

In 2007 Regional Advisory Boards were set up in South America, South East Asia and Oceania, plus a Church Advisory Board in the former Soviet Union to help congregations understand the prophetic Scriptures and assist the Jewish people.

By the end of 2010, we had assisted over 130,000 Olim and in 2016 the ministry celebrated 25 years of activity and opened offices in Buenos Aires, New York and Paris.

By 2019, over 185,000 Jewish people had been helped to return to Israel and many of our projects were assisting needy Jewish communities in the former Soviet Union with food and other humanitarian aid.

Ebenezer Operation Exodus started in 1991 with just three people.

There are now representatives in over fifty-five countries worldwide. It not only provides practical and financial help to those who wish to immigrate to Israel, but also proclaims truth to the Church worldwide about God’s prophetic purposes regarding the Jewish people.

Born Out of Prayer

From the moment God brought this ministry into being at the International Prayer Conference in Jerusalem in 1991 prayer has been at the heart of the ministry, and not just prayer but the deeper ministry of intercession. Dr Kingsley Priddy of the Bible College of Wales at that time, wrote this to our founder, Gustav Scheller, ‘Intercession is not prayer, nor even very intense prayer. Anyone may pray, and pray earnestly for something, and yet not be committed to be irrevocably responsible, at any cost, for its fulfilment. The intercessor is.’ Kingsley Priddy knew what he was talking about, for the Bible College of Wales was the home of that most well-known of intercessors, Rees Howells, who had been mightily used by God to intercede during one of the most strategic struggles of WWII: the Battle of Britain in 1940.

The staff at the Bible College of Wales understood God’s prophetic purposes for the Jewish people. Dr Priddy assured Gustav Scheller, ‘God the Holy Spirit, is in ‘Operation Exodus’ in a unique way. It is His own intercessory ministry for the return to Israel of the world’s Jews. It is He, who through this ministry is gaining a position of intercession which will prevail for the return of the ultimate remnant that is to be brought back from the four corners of the earth…’
